Because the stabilizer has an actual wood-pulp component, all of it must be thoroughly rinsed away the first time it is wetted. Be sure that no pieces remain and that all the "slickness" is gone, because any that remains could be wood pulp and will be very difficult to remove once the water-soluble component is gone. For this reason, it is not recommended as a topper or for free-motion work, unless you are doing only very even, elongated, machine-fed, straight stitching.
Because all Sulky Water Soluble Stabilizers are made from non-woven materials they don’t stretch in any direction.
Designs are pre-printed on water soluble stabilizer. It goes on like a sticker and acts as a stabilizer for your fabric while stitching and then rinses off with warm water when you are done stitching.
